Jackie founded JP Cares, Incorporated out of her passion to serve those in need. After working in the social services field for only a few years, she began to observe barriers that prevented people experiencing homelessness from getting the assistance they needed. She would always say that one day she would start an organization that would fill in these gaps in the systems that were supposedly created to help those in need. From that thought, JP Cares, Incorporated was born.

Jackie's work in the social services field began as a volunteer for STAND, Inc. After volunteering for a few months she was hired at the Intake Coordinator. She later joined the staff of the Gateway Center, one of the city's leading homeless service organizations. From there she went on to serve as a Medical Case Manager for AID Atlanta, the  most comprehensive AIDS service organization in the Southeast. Currently, Jackie serves as a Social Work Coordinator in Fulton County, serving individuals experiencing challenges with homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and are criminal justice system involved.

Our amazing CEO holds an Associate degree in Computer Programming Technology from Mississippi Delta Community College; a Bachelors degree in Counseling and Human Services from Point University; and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Georgia.

Jackie is married to Michael Patterson, who serves within the organization as well.  Together, they have one daughter, Jasmyne; a grandson, Isaiah.
